Located in Harlem, the Reading Team helps children in Grades Pre-K-5 become confident, strong readers and develop the skills and habits that will continue to support their success in school and in life. Their programs are designed to focus on essential early literacy components such as phonics, explicit comprehension strategies, oral and written expression, and analytical skills. They provide two free, evidence-based, literacy programs using the Orton-Gillingham approach to multisensory phonics. serving approximately 350 children per year. The Managing Director of Programs helps to ensure the effective delivery, quality, and impact of all program services, managing 20-25 part-time teachers and program support staff, and serving as the primary relationship point of contact for parents/guardians and school partners.
