Passaic County Court Appointed Special Advocates (“CASA”)

To provide support for an Outreach Coordinator responsible for the recruitment of CASA volunteers and general community outreach. Through this effort, CASA plans to develop strategic community partnerships to increase recruitment of volunteers, and raise awareness around the needs of children in the foster care system in response to the larger numbers of children being referred to the program by the Family Court. CASA works through specially trained and supervised volunteers to promote the welfare of children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect or abandonment. CASA volunteers serve as a child’s “Voice in Court” and help to ensure that needed services and assistance are made available to children in out-of-home placements, while at the same time helping to move these children toward safe, nurturing, and permanent homes.
