To support a new part-time Intake Specialist for the Young Adult Opportunity Initiative (“YAOI”) which creates employment and education opportunities for out-of-school, out-of-work youth ages 16 to 24 in the Mount Eden community of the Southwest Bronx. The Intake Specialist will provide thorough intake assessments of youth seeking to enter the program, and provide support to program staff to link youth to needed services and benefits, whether or not they enter their program. This role will help ensure that they can carefully assess young people’s needs, fully incorporate them into personalized program plans, and track their progress. It gives them a needed ‘point person’ where program participants and alumni, program staff, partner staff and outside providers can collaborate and develop the best plan possible for each young person who comes through their doors. New Settlement Apartments provides housing services as well as educational and community service programs for children and families living in the Southwest Bronx.
