To provide salary support for the Radiological Technician for their new ScanVan, the nation’s first mobile mammography/radiology clinic dedicated to serving poor and homeless New Yorkers. The ScanVan will perform tuberculin skin tests and chest x-rays to screen for tuberculosis and mammograms and clinical breast exams to screen for cancer, providing preventive care for these two illnesses that disproportionately affect the poor and homeless. For all positive screenings, they will also initiate and ensure follow-up treatment.
