To support their efforts to adopt a holistic, comprehensive Trauma-Informed Care Approach to their work in response to the dramatic increase in the demand for services at their mental health clinic by children and families exposed to severe trauma. They will engage the National Council on Behavioral Health in a year-long consultancy which will involve an agency-wide self-assessment around trauma-informed care, several agency-wide trainings, the establishment of a Trauma-Informed Care Implementation Team with various constituent groups represented, and a post-implementation audit. The grant will help to support a Project Manager who will oversee all aspects of their transition to trauma-informed care and the National Council on Behavioral Health consultancy. Adopting a trauma-informed approach to caring for children is essential, as complex trauma is a critical designation for clients in Children’s Health Homes in Medicaid Redesign in New York State.
