For a new Post-Secondary Counselor who will work with youth from their two Young Adult Borough Centers/Learning to Work (“YABC/LTW”) programs. YABCs are evening academic programs designed for youth who have struggled in other high schools to earn the credits they need to obtain their diploma. While QCH currently provides some follow up, they are unable to provide the added support which many graduates need to stay on track with their educational and/or career goals. With the creation of this new position, they will be able to provide outreach and individualized support following graduation to help students access and excel in jobs with a career track, enroll in college or training program, or take other steps that can lead to more successful futures. The Post-Secondary Counselor will outreach to their 180 graduates, with 80 receiving individualized counseling.
