To support a part-time Placement Support Specialist who will work one-on-one with graduates of the CDI Career Academy to help them keep on track to pass their certification exams, develop their job search skills and prepare resumes, and coach them on interview skills and job search resiliency strategies. The CDI Career Academy is an innovative sectoral-based workforce development program that prepares non-college-bound graduates and disconnected, out-of-school, out-of-work youth ages 18-24 to enter the healthcare field with the ability to earn a livable wage and have significant opportunities for advancement over time. The program includes an 8-week Essential Skills training program to address needs identified by healthcare employers, followed by a 20-week Certified Medical Assistant program at Borough of Manhattan Community College, internships and job placement.
