To support the Supervisor of Training and Capacity Building who is responsible for implementing the Connections to Care capacity building initiative aimed at dramatically changing the way they identify and support low-income community members in need of mental health care. The Door is one of fifteen NYC nonprofits selected to participate in Connections to Care, a Social Innovation Fund supported project. Over the course of the next 3 to 5 years, The Door will work closely with their affiliate and experienced mental health provider, University Settlement, to expand the capacity of their non-clinical front line staff through training and coaching in evidence-based mental health care practices. The Door works to empower young people aged 12 to 24 to reach their potential by providing comprehensive youth development services including health care, mental health counseling, and education support.
